Players participating in the MMSL are provided insurance through the Manitoba Soccer Association and is included in your Player Fee that you pay to the MSA.
Some information to keep in mind:
- A Physician / Dentist must have been consulted within 30 days of the initial injury.
- The Accident Claim form must be filled out and received by the MSA within 90 days of the accident / injury date.
- Submit a report of the accident right away. Do not wait until you actually have a claim (i.e. statement from a Physiotherapist).
- The Sport Accident offers limited coverage and is not intended to compete with individual employee benefit programs or group insurance disability programs. In fact, it is a second payer to such programs.
- Physiotherapy (Chiropractic, Athletic or Massage Therapy) are 100% Covered once all other insurance available to the claimant is exhausted and provided a licensed doctor has referred the injured athlete to the therapist, up to a maximum of $2000.
